ChAPTER (Chicago coalition Around PCOR To Expand community Research)


is a collaborative, multi-disciplinary network of local organizations and other

stakeholders devoted to the promotion of health equity across the Chicagoland area



ChAPTER received a

Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) engagement award to:


1. Host an event to establish channels of coordination and collaboration across organizations and stakeholders working on patient-centered and/or comparative effectiveness research


2. Develop a roadmap and explore potential infrastructure for ongoing collaboration and communication, with a focus on increasing capacity for patient-centered, behavioral and mental health efforts across the City and surrounding areas, leveraging the expertise of existing coalitions


Create sustained collaboration and coordination among stakeholders to deliver

equitable mental and behavioral health research and treatment across Chicagoland


Create a reference guide for a common equitable

mental and behavioral health research and treatment agenda




Provide a forum for a collaborative discussion focused on lived experience and develop research agenda reflective of community need



Bridge the gaps between people with lived experiences, peers, academia and frontline service providers in the community



Build connections to support equity among stakeholders in mental and behavioral research
